Installation ::: SNITT

SNITT is a collaborative project between architects and designers from the UK and Norway. The name translates as section and the installation represents the intersection between a bench, a facade system and a graphic canvas. Constructed of acrylic sheets intersected by dark slats of MDF, the piece can interpreted as furniture or if perceived at a different scale can be seen as a facade.

Installation ::: Alien Cathedral

The newest piece from the Creators Project - delves into the workings, inspirations, and methods of acclaimed director Jonathan Glazer and English rock band Spiritualized frontman J Spaceman that came to life in the ephemeral interactive installation for the Coachella Music Festival in April 2011.

The Creators Project first followed Glazer and Spaceman during the early stages of construction of their epic light and sound-controlled installation, inspired by the song, “Ladies and Gentleman, We Are Floating in Space” and built by One of Us. The dreamlike piece, aims to capture the often intangible moments of magic revealing an architectural sensibility.

Installation ::: Aerial Sculptures by Janet Echelman

The aerial sculptural installations designed by artist Janet Echelman employs the use of fishing nets and was inspired by learned tricks from local fisherman in India. The artist has produced and been commissioned to create public art sculptures in North America and Europe. More here

Installation ::: Botox Cloud

The conceptual and interdisciplinary design agency, SAQ has developed an interactive modular installation that mimics the complexity of clouds & weather patterns. The installation is made of paper models that are cut and folded in certain ways, much like 3-dimensional jigsaw puzzle that visually engages the users of the space. This project is an ongoing research by SAQ into architectural pluralism using design as a device to understand the complexities in our surrounding world.

the Cocoon

DUS Architects has created the Cocoon- an interactive lounge that inhabits the lobby at the Delft Faculty of Architecture. The flexible skin, measuring 32m3 is constructed of 150 inner bicycle tubes, measuring 20 meters each that can be inflated separately, responds both to user and spectator, adding to a new dimension to all types of environments.
